His scientific interests were dedicated to the maters of steroid hormone effect, their significance for the skin, role in professional diseases. In 1954, he prepared and defended his second thesis (the 1937 work was not recognized by the Soviet regime) named “The Production of Sex Hormones During Certain Skin Diseases”. He managed to become a Department Assistant Professor only in 15 years when he already had his doctoral thesis ready. In 1969, he defended his doctoral thesis “On the Contents of Steroid Hormones in the Skin Fat.” Since 1972, Professor M. Dubovyi was elected the Head of Lviv branch of the Scientific Society of Ukrainian Dermatologists.&nbsp;&nbsp; He became a co-founder of the course of nurse training at Ridna Shkola Society. In 1973-1977, professor Mykhailo Dubovyi was appointed an acting Head of the Department. He studied the functional effect of the liver and stomach on the pathogenesis and eczema, researched the role of steroid and sex hormones in histophysiology and skin pathology, worked out the issues of prevention of occupational dermatological diseases among employees of Lviv-Volyn Coal Basin, Lviv Motor Plant, and problems of syphilis treatment. Despite the recognition and high authority among the medical society, M. Dubovyi kept feeling that he was politically unreliable, he was forbidden from departing abroad, though his scientific works were widely popular abroad too. The memory of the prominent physician and scientist Mykhailo Dubovyi keeps living deeply respected among colleagues and medical students, whom he served his entire life.</p&gt;}, number={2}, journal={Proceeding of the Shevchenko Scientific Society.
