The Journal PROCEEDINGS OF THE SHEVCHENKO SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY (MEDICAL SCIENCES)  highlights and disseminates information of local and international authors on scientific and clinical interdisciplinary medical issues presented as original research, clinical case reports, review articles, data descriptor articles that point to a dataset or descriptions of clinical or surgical procedures.

The journal was first published in 1898 (founding editor Yevhen Ozarkevich) as a MEDICAL COLLECTION. In 2010 it was renewed and since 2016 published in a new, enlarged format, with an international editorial board. It is distributed to all libraries of higher medical educational institutions, regional medical libraries, and to the leading institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
